Extremely looking forward to Christmas curry, we’ve not had leftovers for it after Christmas lunch for some years now and ohhhh I love it
After literally decades of seeing me wear the spooky pyjamas and drink out of mugs emblazoned with all the characters, my Mum has gotten curious enough about The Nightmare Before Christmas to actually watch it.
20m of Christmas lights is longer than I thought it was. This is my 25m ethernet cable situation from university all over again
Love that the council has not been able to confirm my Mum’s identity so she can postal vote despite her living in the same house where she pays them council tax longer than I have been alive and having given them her NI no etc.
Bandcamp Wrapped 2025
Spotify Wrapped, Tidal Rewind, Apple Rewind etc are all out but since I still mostly listen to mp3s on my laptop, actual CDs or literally just the radio – I must await my last.fm 2025 playback sometime in the first days of 2026. I’m pretty sure I haven’t listened to as much music compared to 2024, but there have been some really great albums released this year which I have super enjoyed.
In the meantime, here is my Bandcamp Wrapped for all the albums where either the musicians just don’t have CDs available or I didn’t want a CD but enjoyed the music enough to think “I would buy these musicians a slice of cake”.
There’s a lot of mash-up albums in there (I’ve always loved them) and the DJs typically make the tracks available for free, so it’s nice to be able to essentially tip them for doing what they do. A lot of releases from artists whose work I have enjoyed before too since Bandcamp very handily tells me whenever they put something new out.
And yeah, I’ve been getting some of my new music recs from tiktok – although maybe not as many as I expected. I think I should try to visit Hype Machine more next year. It’s not been quite as easy to remember to pop over there now that there are no more Stack newsletters arriving in my inbox each week.
