you could have been born with a king’s fortune

So last week Bishop Jim died. Which was kind of sad, but really we had been expecting it for a really long time. I went to the Vigil Mass in St Albans and St Stephens Church yesterday, and today his coffin will be taken off to Westminster Cathedral for his funeral tomorrow. It was a pretty jolly service, considering it was for someone who had died.

Back when my grandparents were alive, Bishop Jim went to their house to visit my grandma. On his way into the house though, my granddad mentioned that he had gotten a new cooker and so, Bishop Jim went into the kitchen to have a look and ended up blessing the new cooker, while my grandma was in the living room wondering where he had gotten to. 🙂

Tomorrow, is the dentist at 8am and then I’m sure something is happening at the weekend. Though I cannot remember what it was.

In hilarious news, I appear to have a throat infection right in time for the all-singing, all-dancing easter extravaganza. Also napping from 7pm-11pm = teh win. Luckily I seem to be one of those people who can nap until about an hour before going to bed and still be able to sleep afterwards. Marvel at my napping skillz.

Almost all the way through season 3 of the X-Files and I keep spotting people like Amanda Tapping and Lucy Liu in the episodes, it’s both bizarre and random – mostly because I didn’t notice them before. Probably because they weren’t famous or had really been in much else at the time.

Please explain the scientific nature of the whammy.

In other news, I chopped my hair short again. Once more I can get out of bed, forget to brush my hair and have no one notice. 😀

Also, yay Kermit. 😀

I’m on season 3 of the X-Files after starting about 5 episodes into season 1 last weekend. It’s far easier to watch when I don’t have to snatch time from whoever’s watching tv downstairs. The only random trivia I remember about this episode is that in a scene at the beginning where Mulder and Scully are talking, Gillian Anderson is standing on a box so that both their heads fit in frame.

You think you can look into the face of pure evil, and then you find yourself paralysed by it.

Today is my Dad’s birthday so we went to check out the RAF museum in Hendon and then went for lunch and had mostly food that he likes. There are a heck of a lot of planes in the museum and some bombs and stuff. It was cool. I got my dad a die-cast Mosquito and a cd of war movie music while we were there, which he’s seems pretty happy with. I guess it’s because he can play the music and fly the plane about in tune. Heh. We also surprised him with a Fifi and the Flowertots cake for breakfast, though it seems that Fifi and the Flowertots isn’t one of the programmes he watches often.

As expected… the delivery people attempted to deliver my dvd player while we were out. They’ll apparently be trying again tomorrow though I have a suspicion that no one will be in again when they do., as dictated by Murphy’s Law.

In other news, I am now a student again! Woo. Well. I’m just doing one module with the OU, but I have a student number and everything once more. And I’ll get to do essays! And READING and stuff. 😀 I didn’t really get much of a chance to do any essays while at university. 🙁 Or much reading for that matter. Heh.
