How many button-clicks and how long did it take you?

  • One click?
  • 3 – about 20 secs.
  • 2, 30 secs
  • 2 a few seconds. Are recipes suggested on the basis of what food is in and expiry date?
  • 2. longer than it should have. what’s with all the image maps?
  • 2 clicks mere moments

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is “Very difficult” and 10 is “Very easy”, how easy was it to find out what items you were running low on?

How many button-clicks and how long did it take you?

  • Six or seven, I thought it’d be in inventory or status, not shop
  • 2 – 15 secs
  • 10, 2 mins
  • Cannot. Amount is not listed in inventory page.
  • um, a lot. i don’t think i’ve actually found out yet. why isn’t it under inventory?
  • 2 moments
  • 6

What did you think of the design and layout of the menus? (leave comment if you run out of space)

  • A bit big. Looked pretty, but too huge on smaller monitors
  • is clear – but maybe put subcategories on the front page?
  • not bad, but the last one wasn;t too obvious as to wear it would be
  • It is ok. You are using a touch screen system. Therefore you need buttons that are as big as possible. Consider auto completing text for item names like in newer mobile phones
  • it’s… okay.
  • alright
  • Clear layout and nice design but hard to imagine on a fridge

What feature would you find least useful?

  • The scroller bar in the inventory
  • Status.
  • personally? recipies
  • thermal imaging cameras
  • potentially the menu function.
  •  recipes
  • status

Why?

  • Didn’t do anything, did it..
  • It seems to be purely for the pretty infrared thingy 😀
  • because i have zillions already 🙂
  • the status page is useless. More in comment.
  • because, unless it’s really clever and gives you recipes based on what ingredients you’ve got, i don’t really see the point.
  • experimental chef
  • So long as stuff doesn’t go mouldy and comes out cold to touch, I’m happy…

What feature out of those in the prototype would you find most useful?

  • Running low, and use by date
  • sort by use-by-date
  • sort by usage 🙂
  • Recipes.
  • i like the status idea.
  • shopping
  • different settings within Inventory

Why?

  • I like knowing if stuff should be replaced
  • because I always forget
  • simpel you know when thighns are out of date/ not etc
  • You have a lot of potential here. Use the recepie
  • it looks pretty.
  • can never remember to get the milk
  • So don’t overbuy or forget about items in fridge

What feature that isn’t in the prototype would you find useful?

  • The coloured temprature status thing
  • buying recipe ingredients automatically
  • A clock on the main menu. Integration with the sho
  •  i’d find it useful if the running low bit was unde
  • ability to sort contents by either health grounds
  • remove items!!! And add items not low to shopping

Why?

  • Cute, but numbers would’ve been easier to understa
  • because then I’d have everything I need!
  • so you can add all items on order to inventory
  • r the inventory
  • or possible contamination
  • 1st – to eat! 2nd-don’t always buy the same stuff

Having looked at the prototype, do you think this product would be just a gimmick, or would have beneficial uses in a real-life situation?

  • I want smart fridge
  • A bit of both
  • could have a beneficial uses – especially in regard to old people/ people on their own etc.
  •  It’s useful but limited.
  • well, it’s an idea that’s been bandied around for a while now. i’m sure people will eventually think they can’t live without it.
  • possibly
  • Possibly more useful for carers who only come in a few times a week?

Any other comments?

  • Will the “real” thing have a way of downloading more recipes from the Internet/ arranging them?
